(24.02.12) VIVACOM’s “Spare Change Operation” awarded by Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum

The initiative won over 65 projects

 Sofia, February 24, 2012 - VIVACOM was awarded in the category "Marketing, related to a cause" for 2011 by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum among 65 significant projects. The award was given by the Minister of Physical education and Sports Svilen Neykov in the presence of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and representatives from different ministry administrations. 

The cause, thanks to which VIVACOM won this award, is the donation campaign "Spare Change Operation". In September 2011 was the second time that the telecom organized it this time in help of a center for temporary accommodation, close to the family type, called "Malkata kashta", where six babies are living and is taken care of in Knyazhevo in conditions close to family ones. The campaign aimed to show that everyone who has good intention can help by leaving their spare change in one of the thousand boxes in the VIVACOM's shops or the shops of the campaign partners - Societe Generale Експресбанк, Carrefour, Marcel Toys, Chipolino, Onda, Mr. Bricolage, Jeff, DHL, inmedio, Relay, 1 Minute and  

"Spare Change Operation" provided 52 000 BGN for further development of "Malkata Kashta" project, which gives an alternative option for temporary breeding, individual care and attention of the abandoned babies and small children. Apart from the funds raised, the children received also donation of food, cots, diapers etc.
