What is call barring and how do I use it?

Call barring is a functionality which allows you to stop calls being made to or from your mobile phone. You can use call barring to prevent someone else from using your phone, or if you want to keep control of your spending.

With call barring you can bar (prohibit) calls from being made or received from undesired callers and therefore control your privacy. You can also activate or deactivate this barring feature at your convenience to control your spending. For example, no international calls allowed except to the home country or no incoming calls allowed while roaming.

To activate call barring you need to dial an individual barring password for each number you wish to bar. The default password is 0000. Depending on your preference, you can activate six (6) different call barring options:

All outgoing calls at all times:

  • To activate dial:
*33* [your barring code] # followed by SEND
  • To deactivate dial:
#33* [your barring code] # followed by SEND

All outgoing international calls:

  • To activate dial:
*331* [your barring code] # followed by SEND
  • To deactivate dial:
#331* [your barring code] # followed by SEND

All international calls when abroad except those to Bulgaria:

  • To activate dial:
*332* [your barring code] # followed by SEND
  • To deactivate dial:
#332* [your barring code] # followed by SEND

All incoming calls:

  • To activate dial:
*35* [your barring code] # followed by SEND
  • To deactivate dial:
#35* [your barring code] # followed by SEND

All incoming calls when roaming outside Bulgaria:

  • To activate dial:
*351* [your barring code] # followed by SEND
  • To deactivate dial:
#351* [your barring code] # followed by SEND

You can activate more than one of the above barring conditions simultaneously. When your incoming calls are barred, your caller will hear a recorded announcement to inform them that the call is barred.
