(14.05.09) CPC greenlights BTC’s purchase of 2be store chain

BTC boasts the largest retail network in Bulgaria

The Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has approved BTC's purchase of 2be, the telecom solutions store chain. With this acquisition BTC has practically doubled the number of its outlets to become the telecom company with the largest outlet network countrywide. The transaction is part of the strategy for transforming BTC from a technological to a customer-oriented, effective and dynamic company.

Late last month BTC and the owner of the 2be trademark, Kimimpex Trade and Leasing Ltd., signed a contract under which BTC acquired 100 per cent of 2be, the leading telecom services store chain. Now that the state regulators have approved the deal, BTC is launching a process of integrating the 2be outlets into its own retail network. This process will involve rebranding and merging the store chain with BTC's retail network and is expected to be completed by the year's end.

The main advantage of BTC is that it offers the largest portfolio of telecommunications services - Internet, mobile and fixed-line telephone services, said BTC's CEO Bernard Moscheni. It is by providing an integrated telecommunications service, under one brand and with a uniform approach, that BTC meets its commitment to customers. The remodelling and repositioning of BTC's retail network is part of the strategy for improving customer service.

The contract signed by the two companies is a natural follow-up to the close partnership and the successful joint portfolio of products and services offered. As a result of the deal BTC will double its retail network.
